Appointed to the role by ASM Global in 2019, Peter contributes a wealth of knowledge to the business events industry learned from over 25 years’ experience in international hotels and professional services management. He previously led the development and management of the multi-award-winning Emporium Hotels in Brisbane, earning a reputation for excellence and innovation in hospitality.

Under Peter’s leadership, the Darwin Convention Centre continues to grow as a top destination for business events, attracting local, national and international delegates to Darwin and significantly contributing to the Northern Territory’s economy. Employing over 30 full-time staff and up to 300 casuals in the peak event season, the Centre hosts hundreds of business events every year and offers delegates space to think, opportunities to learn, with time to network and make authentic connections. With a focus on delivering world-class service and unforgettable experiences, Peter is dedicated to positioning the Darwin Convention Centre as a leading destination for business events – an achievement that was recognised by winning Gold for Best Business Events Venue at the Australian Tourism Awards earlier this year in March 2024.
