Philip Wells

ESG Planning & Project Manager, Adelaide Venue Management

Philip Wells is ESG Planning & Project Manager at Adelaide Venue Management (AVM), proud operators of the Adelaide Convention Centre, Adelaide Entertainment Centre, and Coopers Stadium.

With over three decades of experience in the business events industry, Philip has made significant contributions to delivering impactful client events at both the Adelaide Convention Centre and Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, working across both catering operations and event planning.

During this time, Philip has also played an active role in championing venue sustainability, both as Chair of Adelaide Convention Centre’s Green Team and as an active member of AVM’s Sustainability Management Committee. He has been a key contributor in driving Adelaide Convention Centre’s EarthCheck certification; in September 2023, Adelaide Convention Centre became the world’s first convention centre to achieve EarthCheck’s coveted Master status, reflecting more than 15 years’ best practice in environmental, business and social sustainability.

Philip is committed to environmental and social change; it’s not the ideas that make a difference, it’s the discipline and commitment to make them happen. In his current role, he is responsible for driving AVM’s ESG Strategy – The Green Print – which is focused on minimising the organisation’s environmental footprint, maximising its positive impact on communities, and offering tangible solutions for clients and delegates to reduce their own event footprints for a better tomorrow.
