Bea Tomlin
Founder, Beaspoke Safety
Bea Tomlin is the founder of Beaspoke Safety, a Melbourne-based consultancy specialising in practical, human-centred safety and risk management across the events industry. With more than 25 years’ experience spanning exhibitions, conferences, precinct activations, outdoor festivals and high-pressure live environments, Bea is known for cutting through complexity and helping teams move from “ticking boxes” to actually being safe.
Bea began her career in the UK across exhibition halls, festivals, conferences and major public events before relocating to Australia, where she now supports organisers, councils, venues, agencies and suppliers to strengthen their systems and lift their capability. Her work centres on the real pressure points the events industry wrestles with daily: move-in and move-out safety, contractor management, vehicle and plant movement, weather and environmental risk, crowd dynamics, emergency readiness, and the rise of psychological health obligations.
Her approach is straight-talking, collaborative and grounded in lived experience. Known for her ‘Devil’s Advocate’ style, Bea helps organisations pressure-test decisions, challenge assumptions, and embed safety by design rather than safety by default. She specialises in translating safety expectations into operational practice, the kind staff actually understand, teams can deliver, and leadership can stand behind.
Bea is a strong advocate for raising safety maturity across the entire events ecosystem so that organisers, suppliers and venues operate with shared expectations, consistent standards and the confidence to act early, not react late.
Through Beaspoke Safety, Bea partners with clients across Australia to build safer, smarter, more resilient events where people can speak up, hold the line, and go home safely.
